To promote further business growth, UKLS needed a highly functional, integrated and customised eCommerce solution to replace their existing site, one that remained easy to use while providing their Business to Business and Business to Consumer customers with a fast and efficient online order processing system.
Background & Requirements
Through an extensive range of partnerships and OEM relationships with manufacturers such as HP, as well as their own in-house remanufactured products, UKLS are able to offer a unique choice of high-quality products at competitive prices.
UKLS chose Gravit-e Discovery following detailed requirements discussions, system demonstrations and existing client site reviews.
The new system had to integrate to Sage 200, have a modern look and feel, and also had to be mobile responsive. UKLS also stressed the need for excellent, responsive support and flexibility for future developments where required.
The Solution
Below are just some of the key requirements specified by UKLS and which Gravit-e was able to deliver:
- Customer and Product Pricing
- Customer Account Management
All accounts are seamlessly integrated bi-directionally to the Sage 200 back-office sales ledger.
Each UKLS customer can have multiple securely controlled user accounts with different permission levels, some having visibility of pricing and others requiring authorisation from another account to place an order.
Customers with limited purchase authority can place orders up to specified values. If such a user attempts to exceed their permitted value, the order is placed in a queue within Gravit-e for approval by a user with the appropriate authority who will have received an automatic email advising of the waiting authorization. A list of such orders is also available on demand. Held orders may be edited, declined or approved, at which point they are moved to the Sage 200 order processing system and the originating user updated by automated email. Any order that exceeds the account credit limit is placed on hold in Sage 200.
Customers with unlimited purchase authority can place an order for any value. - Product Pages and Management
We advised UKLS to enhance their SEO content in the product and product category pages in order to easily improve their position within search engines. These were optimised with banner images, rich HTML, videos, attachments, downloads and meta data. The products are also configured with cross-selling and upselling data. - Shipping Matrix
The Gravit-e Discovery system provides a comprehensive shipping matrix solution that allows the system to charge shipping based on: - Shipping Country
- Order Value
- Order Quantity
- Order Weight
- Presence, or absence, of specific product types (e.g. bulky items)
- Customer price list or customer type
- Product Availability (e.g. are all products in stock or not)
- The shipping matrix can be used to offer these different service levels to customers and to confirm the shipping service that they will receive. The Gravit-e shipping matrix can provide an estimated delivery day based on a working days calculation, excluding a configurable list of days to take into account shutdowns or other factors.
- Customer specific White Labelling
Gravit-e supports per customer white-labelled solutions that include the customer’s branding and limits navigation, and ordering to a reduced set of customer specific products. These customers are automatically directed to the Quick Order Pad system which presents their available products to them. - Secure
As with all Gravit-e sites, the system is securely hosted by Gravit-e with 24/7 availability and monitoring.
UKLS provide contract-based pricing for their B2B customers using a matrix based on a standard price list, contract pricing and a cost x % adjustment. Gravit-e can support multiple price lists per customer to create a cascading hierarchy. A default price list is used where a contract does not exist.
Many further Gravit-e features were discussed with UKLS, many of which are likely to be implemented in the future to further enhance the performance of their E-Commerce business.
